Teacher Appreciation was so much fun

For my teacher I will make an edible flower bouquet!!! Yummy!
Need a fun idea for Teacher appreciation.  A great way to make a craft & eat it too!  Each child bakes a rolled & cutout flower shaped sugar cookie for about 8-10 min.  Be sure the stems (sticks) are heatproof.  They have them in many grocery stores in the baking isle, or they carry them at places like Michaels or Roberts.  I picked mine up at Walmart.  They're labeled cookie sticks.  They're larger & thicker around than a normal skewer.  You want a good foundation for this gift...Heaven forbid!  No tipping over here!  After cutting out your shape lay a "stem" onto top of cutout.  Be sure to place a mound of extra dough over the top to stick to hide it & secure it.  Place the "mound" side down on baking sheet.  Bake for about 8-10 minutes.  Let cool in pan for about 5 min.  When ready, remove from pan with a spatula & let cool completely.  Then the fun part!  Frost with royal icing & decorate with any kind of sprinkles.  Let dry overnight.  You may place each cookie in a Medium sized candy bag, I mention this because there are so many bags that are NOT food grade.  We want these cookies to be safe to eat!  Tie with green tulle to represent leaves & to preserve freshness, & then "plant" in florists foam that has been wedged into the bottom of your heavy bottom pot.  Cover edges of flower pot with tissue paper (grass) And, If desired attach a note that says "Thank you for planting the seeds of knowledge.  They will grow Forever!"

We have had a great school year thanks to these wonderful teachers & we hope they enjoyed their little token of appreciation.

I was also in charge of decorating the Office door of the school to show the secretaries that we Love them too:)  Can you guess what it looked like?  Yep, more cookies! Cute poem & too bad for me no pics.  Camera missing=  Major crisis around here!

We love our teachers just as much as we LOVE us some sugar cookies:)
